Righteousness a Choice?

 

There is the engrafted righteousness of Christ through His atonement on our behalf.
Then there is the act of righteous living which is a daily choice; yet, a choice we would not desire to make or be able to make without the grace of God in our lives.

This is a hard topic that most people get confused over.

 

To answer a question here…
“Pride is what makes them think it is their choice and their will, right?”

 

I believe more than dealing with pride we are dealing with peoples misunderstanding and confusion over how to communicate what they are sensing and feeling on this issue.  As I said it is not easy.  Most people don’t deny it takes the grace of God to live a godly life, they also know they need to make a choice to be obedient to God and God’s Word in order to allow that godly life to manifest, hence, their reason for referring to it as a choice.  I think they do understand that God is behind the choice and the desire but they don’t communicate that well.  Then there is that much smaller percentage with whom it is pride and living righteously is more an act of the flesh brought about by self-will instead of an act of obedience brought about by love for God and through His grace.

Will My People just hand over My Creation to evil and sin or will they begin to see that unhealthy tolerance and political correctness is not godly love, is not advancing My Kingdom, and is not My Will.  Arise and raise among yourself the banner of unity, love, and courage; then you, My Children, those called by My Name, will be ready to raise the Standard of Life and Living I set forth in My Word.  Repent of your apathy and begin to move toward godliness that My Creation and your world might not be completely consumed by evil before its time.

 

“Gather” in the Hebrew Language means:

622. to gather for any purpose; hence, to receive, take away, i.e. remove (destroy, leave behind, put up, restore, etc.):— assemble, bring, consume, destroy, fetch, gather (in, together, up again), × generally, get (him), lose, put all together, receive, recover [another from leprosy], (be) rereward, × surely, take (away, into, up), × utterly, withdraw.

 

“My saints” in the Hebrew Language means:

2623. from 2616  kind, i.e. (religiously) pious (a saint):— godly (man), good, holy (one), merciful.

2616. to bow (the neck only [comp. 2603] in courtesy to an equal), i.e. to be kind; also (by euphemism [comp. 1288], but rarely) to reprove:— shew self merciful, put to shame.

 

“together unto Me; those that have made” in the Hebrew Language means:

3772. to cut (off, down or asunder); by implication to destroy or consume; specifically to covenant (i.e. make an alliance or bargain, be freed, make a league

 

“a covenant” in the Hebrew Language means:

1285. confederacy, [con-]feder[-ate], covenant, league.

 

“with me by sacrifice” in the Hebrew Language means:

2077. from 2076; by implication a sacrifice (the victim or the act):— offer (-ing), sacrifice.

2076. to slaughter an animal (usually in sacrifice):— kill, offer, (do) sacrifice, slay.

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22-23

The mercy I have toward My children is immeasurable. It will never end or wane. It will be their each time they are in need. I will forever be faithful to them. They must not measure Me by man’s standards. Man will fail them – Man will give up – Man will let go of them; I however am not Man and I will never fail them, give up on them or let them go. I love My children and they love Me. I love with a perfect love they love with an imperfect love. But I desire their love with all its imperfections. I provide rest for My children during which I renew their body, mind and spirit. My mercies are always present; the sense of them is greater in the morning when you are refreshed. You start your days with a new sense of purpose and peace. That is My renewal and My mercies being poured out upon you as you sleep. You will not be consumed for I will bring renewal during the night. For I am your Faithful God!
