Let God take care of your business

Psalm 121 1              I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?2             My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.3             He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.4             Behold, He who keeps
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.5             The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand.6             The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night.7              The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.8             The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.

We must ask ourselves, “What will we do when trouble comes our way?” Will we fight, scratch, and claw? Will we just give up and walk away? Will we look beyond ourselves to something more?

To God, is who we should look. The only true and worthy guidance and help we can receive in life, will come from the Lord. Man will guide us into death. We will guide ourselves into destruction. The Lord will guide us into life, peace, and safety. He created all things and He knows what is best for all things.

God will keep us from losing our stability in our faith and lives. He is able to keep us strong and steady. He is willing to do just that, should we choose to trust His methods for doing so. God has never missed anything, on any given day, which relates to our overall being. God is forever aware of everything taking place in and around each one of our worlds. Our Almighty never loses interest in us.

When God talks in verse five about being our keeper; He is saying based on the meaning of this word in the Hebrew the following. I am going to hedge about you (as with thorns) in order to make sure to guard, to protect, and attend to you.  Those who harm you best beware and be circumspect when touching the life of My child.  For I am your keeper.  I observe all around you while making sure to preserve, regard, reserve, and save you when need be. I am your watchman. When God says in this verse He is our shade He is saying He is our defense. If God is our defense how could we possibility think we could ever do a better job at defending ourselves. Let Him defend you and you will know true justice in your life.

Interestingly enough the same word is used in both verse five as “keeper” and in verse seven “shall preserve.” In the Hebrew these are the same words translated two ways. Therefore, when God is talking in verse five about all He will do to care for and keep you – – that also applies to His care and keeping of your soul; as well as you from evil. Wow, God is willing to do it all for us.

Then the same word appears once again in the final verse translated as “shall preserve.” Here God is letting us know He is willing to tend to the direction of our comings and goings each day. Now and for always!

I think we just need to let God take care of things – don’t you?
